Welcome to Year 3
Carmel Payne Julie Olsen
Miss Payne is looking forward to welcoming you and working together so that we have a very exciting and productive year. We are sure that you will enjoy the new subjects in Year 3 and the new learning opportunities provided.
Year 3 is a particularly important year as it the first year in Key Stage 2. The transition from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 2 marks the time when the children take on the challenges of taking greater responsibility and becoming more independent with their learning.
Children in Year 3 enjoy many new opportunities such as swimming, taking part in the Tri-Golf Festival, our Christmas Carol concert and of course being a member of Key Stage 2. This year more than ever, the home school partnership is of the highest importance.
Parents are encouraged to support their children as they complete their home learning and are encouraged as much as possible to work closely together with the class teacher. Children who are supported at home are given that extra boost they need sometimes to push their learning forwards and build their confidence.
In Year 3 I enjoy working closely with the parents so their children have the best start they can to KS2. We will share the children’s successes with the parents through Parent’s evening, Parent Shares, special events in school every day on the door. Please do not hesitate to come and see us after school if you have any questions or queries or make an appointment through the office.
